Online Casino Guides
We want you to be completely comfortable before you play any online casino game. So in this section of our website, you’ll find introductory information relating to the most popular types of games. We cover blackjack, roulette, slots, keno, craps, and bingo. Please familiarise yourself with game rules before trying something new.
How to Play Online Casino Games
Playing online casino games is simple in principle. You just login to your favourite casino, navigate to the game category you want, and select a game. With the exception of live games, most online casinos offer demo versions of their games. We recommend playing these demo versions before you start wagering. Playing in demo mode allows you to familiarise yourself with a title before you start gambling.
Blackjack
Blackjack is a classic card game you play exclusively against the dealer. The goal is to collect cards with a total point value as close to 21 as possible. It is a fairly easy game to play. Both you and the dealer start with two cards. You make the first move. You can ask for another card (hit) or take no more cards (stand) and defer to the dealer. There are other options including splitting and doubling down.
When you are comfortable with your hand, play moves to the dealer. The dealer plays until reaching 17 or going over 21. Subsequent hands are then played until all the cards have been played through, signifying the end of that particular game.
Roulette
Roulette is the well-known French game that utilises a spinning wheel and marble. You place your bets on the table based on where you think the marble will land on its next spin. If you guess correctly, you win.
The most attractive part of roulette is the number of bets you can place. Just as long as you have the chips to support your bets, you can bet on everything from even and odd numbers to black or red colours and groups of numbers. There are lots of ways to win with roulette.
Slots
Online slots are nearly identical to the video slots you would find in a land-based casino. In fact, many of the titles are exactly the same. You wager a certain amount on all the active paylines, then spin the reels and watch the symbols drop. Combinations of three or more like symbols on the same payline constitutes a win.
The average modern online slot typically offers some sort of bonus play as well. This could be a free spins bonus, a picking game, or anything else game designers dream of. Bonus play is where you can really score big.
Keno
If you are not familiar with keno, it is a lottery-based video game that involves picking numbers and seeing if the computer-generated numbers match. There are many varieties of keno games you can play online. They all work in relatively the same way. You determine how much you want to wager, you pick your numbers, and then you sit back and let the game take care of the rest. You win by matching numbers with those randomly generated by the game.
Craps
Craps is a dice game that involves wagering on the outcome of a role. Like roulette, there are lots of ways to wager in craps. There are line bets, multi-roll bets, single roll bets, and many more. This is one game in which it really pays to familiarise yourself with the rules.
In an online setting, you choose the craps table you want to join and off you go. Some games are played exclusively against the bank while other games pit multiple players betting against one another. It is great fun either way. Do yourself a favour and familiarise yourself with the layout of the craps table before you play. You will maximise your enjoyment of the game that way.
Bingo
UK gamers are familiar with bingo because it is a game we have all played since we were young. Online bingo is the same as playing in a brick-and-mortar bingo hall with the added convenience of playing on your computer or mobile device. Note that casinos offering bingo tend to divide their games up into different ‘rooms’.
You can play a live bingo game by logging in and purchasing your cards. Once the game starts, you mark your electronic cards the same way you would paper cards. In some online bingo games, you can let your computer or mobile device mark the cards for you.
There are other online bingo games that let you buy your cards in advance. These are scheduled games that are played automatically, so you don’t necessarily have to have your computer or mobile device on to play. Just purchase your cards and let the software play for you.
