The bingo history

It all started in the 16 century in Italy, when there was a decision to choose members of local council by drawing the balls with certain numbers. This became popular and soon Italians were into a new gamble which is now known as “Bingo”, which means “bean go”. The meaning of the word bingo was born in the USA in the beginning of 20^th century, when the owner of toy manufacturing company was walking through the local market and spotted a group of excited players. Each of them had a card where he marked winning numbers with beans. Every time, the winner of the lottery yelled “Bean Go”.

The businessman went to his friend mathematician, who invented cards for the new game (as a result, mathematician went mad) and then “Bingo” started to spread around the world with an incredible speed. Bingo lottery is completely different from other gambles and that’s why it was never banned in civilized countries. And moreover, it was used for some state lotteries.

The rules of bingo lottery

Now when you know what does bingo mean, you need to learn bingo rules of play. Bingo is an instant game. Before each drawing, a player buys the needed amount of cards at a fixed price. Each card has a unique set of numbers. If cards are reusable, then the player defines the set of numbers himself using special tokens.

Numbered balls are taken from the lottery drum and then they become winning numbers. In real life, dealer pulls the ball out and says the number. Online (for example, in Europa Casino, Casino Tropez, 888 Casino, Titan Casino, Winner Casino) this process is automated. The task of each player is to fill any of his card with winning numbers or to form a certain shape.

The first player who does it, has to yell “Bingo”. The rules of this lottery are the same for all of its varieties. The difference is only in the number of balls used in the lottery drum.

British bingo lottery (the rules are similar to Russian lotto) uses 90 balls. Cards are divided into three rows and game itself consists of three stages. Filling one row gives you 15% of total pot, two rows – 30% of total pot and if you fill the entire card – you get 55% of total pot. If there are several winners, they share the prize equally.

American type of the lottery uses 75 balls. A card has a different structure and players can form some shapes (lines, planes, cylinders etc.) on their card in addition to filling the winning numbers. And there are prizes for that as well.
