Phil Ivey Claims That He Won $9 Milions with Help of Skills

In spring gambling community was struck with claims that Phil Ivey cheated at Borgata Casino. He was accused of cheating after legendary poker player won huge amount of money in Atlantic City. Borgata Casino management said that Ivey cheated when he was playing baccarat. They told that he used card counting techniques. Moreover it was revealed that the casino staff used marked cards. Therefore it was possible to memorize the value of different cards.

Anyway Phil Ivey didn’t confess. He said that he didn’t break any rules. He was supported by many poker players. Although Borgata Casino decided to go to a court.

Phil Ivey was ready to sue the casino. His attorney said, “Every single penny won by my client was earned with skills, not cheats”.

Phil Ivey insists that he didn’t do anything wrong. His example motivated many gamblers. Almost nobody feels bad about the casino. The reason is that usually casinos use weaknesses of clients to earn more money. They earn money when gamblers can’t stop losing. But this time it was the gambler who exploited the weakness of his opponent.

Anyway it is still too early to predict what court can decide. The procedure was just started. Therefore even strong beginning doesn’t ensure success for Ivey.
