84-year-old Florida Woman Won Biggest US Jackpot

We told you about lottery fewer in Zypherhills, Fl several days ago. One of the residents of the town bough lucky Powerball ticket winning $590 Millions. However the lucky winner has not shown up kept Zypherhills guessing. Well, finally the name of the millionaire was announced! The record-breaking jackpot was scooped by 84-year-old Gloria MacKenzie. The winner decided to take $371 Millions. Instant prize instead of annual installments. 

Powerball officials told that Gloria bought her $2 ticket in Publix mall. The lucky ticket matched all 6 figures. The woman scooped the largest single jackpot in the US history. Gloria came to Powerball office with her son Scott. Numerous reporters tried to talk with millionaires but they didn’t say a single word. However Gloria talked with Powerball representatives and left some information about her. 

It was reported that Gloria and Scott decided to split any winnings beforehand. Mrs MacKenzie bought lottery tickets four times before but she never won anything. Gloria also told that she was staying in the line at Publix when a man who also wanted to buy lottery ticket let her go first.“Thank God we won the jackpot. We appreciate the interest of town residents but we would like to ask about privacy. Please ask our lawyer and financial consultant if you wish”, — said the winner. 

It should be mentioned that the prize pool of Powerball was aggregated during last two months. Therefore the jackpot exceeded $590 m. Well, US history saw even bigger jackpots. For instance Mega Millions $656 jackpot was hit in March 2025. However three winners split the jackpot. Therefore the single jackpot record was broken by Gloria MacKenzie.
