Semi-pro from Texas Won WSOP Event 12

It is extremely hot in Las-Vegas nowadays. World Series of Poker is the middle of attention. Best poker players continue competing for precious WSOP bracelets. One of the latest bracelets was won by Lev Rofman. The semi-pro from Houston, Texas won Event 12, $1500 PL Hold’em. 535 players took part in the tournament generating $722 000 prize pool.

Rofman beat heads-up five-time WSOP champion Allen Cunningham. Well, Rofman played against the odds beating the real professional player. At the same time Lev has been working for last 7 years at the Convention Center considering poker as a hobby. He was seldom playing NL Hold’em at Red Rock Casino. He played at $2-$5 tables. 

Lev Rofman took part in WSOP for the first time in his life. His debut was extremely successful; Houston resident won his first bracelet. 37-year-old Lev also earned $166 000. Rofman told about his strategy, “I tried to avoid after flop battles with Cunningham. I understood he was better than me. Thus I tried to best as much as possible preflop when I thought that my hand was better”. It seems like Lev played ABC-poker but his approach paid off! Well, Rofman will be able to kick off his professional career with such a solid bankroll as he earned.
