Jim1983Pim won PokerStars Sunday Million

PokerStars held another Sunday Million which attracted 6659 players despite EPT Barcelona. The participants generated $1 331 800 prize pool. The future winner was going to be rewarded with more than $200 000.

The pay zone included 990 best players. Annete Obrestad barely became the bubble boy or it is fairer to say bubble girl. She finished the tournament 990th. Well, we don’t think that one of the best poker ladies in the world was satisfied with min winning. It is interesting that professional poker players didn’t have much luck during the tournament. Only two members of the Team Poker Stars Pro managed to run deep. It was JC Alvarado and Steve Leonard.

The tournament lasted 12 hours. It took almost 90 minutes to finish the final table game. The Philippines player Sjonie was just one step from finishing in Top-9. However he was knocked out by huge chip leader le kork from Russia. The Russian poker player with 17,8 m. chips took the lead. His closest chaser had only 8,9 m. chips.

There were just 4 players left and they decided to make the deal. After the civilized discussion in online chat the players chopped the remaining prize pool. Then the game was restarted. The rearguard action was provided by MarsoE who had the shortest stack. He was eliminated shortly. The Argentinean was all-in with A9. He got called by the future winner who had AT. MarsoE managed to double up but he had to leave the table shortly.

Russian le kork won the virtual “bronze”. He started the final table game as the chip leader but suffered from series of bad runs. In the decisive hand he was beaten by Jim1983Pim who had AQ. Le kork’s A2 were doomed.

The heads-up between Jim1983Pim and remrem123 didn’t last long. The future champion had 39,5 m. chips and his opponent collected 27 m. Jim slowly attacked remrem and managed to win more chips. After the 15 hands the players finished the tournament. Jim1983Pim had AT and his opponent A5. Remrem123 finished second having won $121K. The winner of the Sunday Million took home $169K.
